Like any professional, a teacher too needs a career progression in order to remain
motivated. There are two kind of career progression that is availableto teachers: one, where a teacher can teach higher classes; and two, where a teacher is given a chance to manage a school or other administrative responsibilities. Of course, these opportunities exist primarily for regular teachers and not for non-regular teachers. The promotional avenues for teachers in UP are given in Table 8.1.
